We had the honour to to teach a two-day executive education module in Business Development and Sustainability at ISM University of Management and Economics Lithuania. Clarifying theoretical concepts and introducing useful methods we took a dense learning journey. It took us from corporate policy and ethical foundations through the pivotal role of culture to sustainable business models and patterns for their re-design. In an extensive case exercise, participants worked with the Sustainable Business Model Design pattern cards to address persisting sustainability challenges in current solar energy business models, and came up with new approaches to redistribute financial risks, diversify supply chains, empower energy communities and crowdfund innovations for remanufacturing. It was great to see the pattern cards (created with Florian Lüdeke-Freund and Lorenzo Massa) unfold their potentials for creative exploration and reconsideration of relevant patterns. 🙏 Special thanks go to the engaged and inspiring participants from ISM, also for your positive and motivating feedback!
